Stand In The Arena!

For many years I have carried this note from my father, Lt. Colonel Frank X. Quinn,

and his dog tags with me as I volunteer around the world.

"Son, here is a quote from Theo Roosevelt that made me think of you..." -Dad

“It is not the critic who counts; 

not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, 

or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. 

The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, 

whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; 

who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again,

 who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions;

 who spends himself in a worthy cause; 

who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement,

 and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly,

 so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls

 who neither know victory nor defeat.”

I am not rich and powerful, nor do I wish to be.

I am not motivated by greed or lust for power.

I am not a handsome conman in a suit who lies to make you happy.

I am an honest average American citizen like you.

I grew up as an army brat living all around our great country.

My family was stationed longest at West Point where we watched noble men and women devote their lives to Duty, Honor, and Country. I have chosen to invest most of my life volunteering around the world teaching children and women in need hoping to find long term solutions. I stepped outside the Matrix 20+ year ago to live in Alaska and volunteer around the world as a computer teacher to help those trapped in poverty.

Most winters have been spent with Tibetan refugee children in their TCV schools in north India.

Other volunteer locations have included: Ethiopia, Kenya, Nepal, and Haiti.

The goal has been to create low cost/free solutions for education and empowerment

of children and women that can be used all over the world including back home in the USA. 

Why Try?

I am running for President of the USA independent of any political party in the hope of shifting our country back towards our true values of love, freedom, and democracy. I can not watch any longer as we destroy ourselves with greed, lust for power, deception, and ignorance. We are better than this. I do not want your money, instead I want you to get off the bench and into the game before it is too late. This is our country and it does not belong to politicians, corporations, or a tiny elite rich ruling class. This is still the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Please champion one of the independent solutions provided here to shift the focus away from destructive party politics and personal attacks.

Our great country & the world are in trouble.

Consider standing for local office as a voice of reason. Be the example. What matters most is that you are willing to stand.

You never know who you might motivate or inspire if you are willing to stand for the common good.

Carpe Diem Teammates! Seize The Day! 

I will stand and fight for the principles that make our country great from here in a tiny town at the end of the road in Hope Alaska.

We may never meet, but we are on the same team.

I will do my best to cover your back and motivate us towards common sense solutions for the common good.

I may have no chance in hell to win, but we are not building hell.

In the land of the free and home of the brave, it is still possible for a common citizen to stand for the common good.

It is time to break free of our broken system!

The soul of our nation is is in trouble, and 

I will stand and fight for the real American Dream

that ALL are created equal with the right to

Life, Liberty, Justice, Pursuit of Happiness, and

Freedom of Religion, Speech, Press, & Assembly.

We are losing our honor and integrity around the world.

Our country is better than this.

Please vote for Statesmen not Politicians

In most respects a statesman is the opposite of a politician. Politicians are thought of as people who will say or do anything to get elected or to gain power. A statesman is someone who does everything for the common good of the people he or she represents. To call a person a statesman is a mark of high regard for that person's integrity. To call someone a politician usually implies the person is worthy of very little esteem. For example, George Washington is almost always called a statesman. (Please stop voting for millionaires who do not understand or care about you or your family).

Mission

Find common sense solutions for the common good by thinking long term and protecting future generations.

Work as a team building bridges to the future motivated by love, kindness, and hope.

Stop building walls looking back to the past primed by fear, violence, and short term greed (and lust for power).

(A poem to put politics into perspective)

GO PLACIDLY amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful.
